The Rules
- STOP. LOOK. LISTEN. 👀
When someone is giving instructions, hands are empty and attention is forward. - ASK BEFORE YOU TOUCH. ✋
Do not open drawers, cupboards, containers, bags, or equipment unless you have permission. - USE ONLY WHAT YOU NEED. 🧪
Unless told otherwise, you should have your phone away during class, or it will be taken and placed on the phone hotel. Take materials for your activity only. Everything else stays where it belongs. - WALK IN THE LAB. 🚶
No running, chasing, throwing, climbing, or horseplay. - STAY IN YOUR WORK AREA. 📍
Do not enter the teacher area, storage areas, prep spaces, or another group’s workspace without permission. - TOOLS ARE TOOLS, NOT TOYS. 🔧
Equipment is used only for its intended purpose and only when instructed. - KEEP HANDS, OBJECTS, AND MATERIALS TO YOURSELF. 🙌
Respect other people’s bodies, belongings, experiments, and space. - IF YOU DON’T KNOW, ASK. ❓
Never guess with chemicals, electricity, heat, glass, tools, or unfamiliar equipment. - CLEAN IT. RETURN IT. RESET IT. 🧹
Your space should be ready for the next person before you leave. - UNSAFE = STOP. 🛑
If I say “stop,” everyone stops immediately. No debate, no finishing the thing first.
