Bridging the Gap
A snapshot of today's society does not explain the reason behind a given situation.
However, looking at the damage that decades of oppression have brought to a group of people is important. Every action, or inaction, has a consequence. This is as true in regards to the oppression suffered by the Indigenous peoples of Canada, as it is for the Indigenous peoples in Brazil, in Africa, in Australia or in any other part of the world. Cultures were erased, families were separated, people were bought and sold.
And this still happens today in many places; in others, even though changes have been attempted, the effects still linger.

Canada is not the only country to suffer from inequality.
There is a sickness in the world today. It has been here for a very long time.
It is caused by modern society's preoccupation with money and their greed.
Humans become mere commodities, to be molded, used, even bought and sold.

And this is just the damage humans do to other humans, in the name of greed -- imagine all the lifeforms on the Earth and how they are affected by modern, "civilized" societies.
Project - Make a Poster
It is easy to feel defeated when the problems are so big. But we all can do our part to fight for equality.
We can fight back by letting our spark become a hot fire.
We can fight back by working hard and becoming an engaged adult.
We can fight back by being brave and standing for what is right.
We can fight back by being stewards of the Earth and all its inhabitants.
You can start fighting back right now!
Welcome to Monkey Rebel!
Your task is to create a poster that ignites a fire on your peers, indigenous or not.
It should be visually catchy and have a few powerful words.
Choose your position wisely!
Do you want to talk about youth poverty?
Do you want to talk about Climate Change and how it impacts your community?
What is the point that speaks closer to your heart, that you are trying to make?
Remember to keep the message positive -- we want to use our fire to build things up, but if our fire is too hot, we may burn it all down.
This anonymous poster will be posted around the school for your peers to see and talk about. Please let me know when it is done, so I can print it for you.
