Purpose and Path
Every one of us has a purpose in life.
Our purpose is usually related to the thing we dream about doing the most.
Many people decide not to follow their dreams and their passions out of fear; in today's society, it is easy to get caught within the capitalist machine and forget what our real path should be.

Your Project - Drumming and Visualization
Sit in a quiet spot at home. Using a drum, emulate a heatbeat. Close your eyes and let your mind wander. Think about your purpose and allow any imagery to fill your mind.
Spend a few minutes in this exercise.
Were you able to see anything? If so, draw what you saw using oil pastels for colour.
Please place this in your binder.
You can also do this at school using Mrs. J's drum, which was built using the teachings of Jorge Lewis, a First Nations artist from the Snuneymuxw Nation of Nanaimo, B.C.
