Final Project - The Musical Parody

What's a music parody? Here is what a group of High Schoolers did with the song Stressed Out, by 21 Pilots:

By now, you are an expert on all things molecular. Why not transform your favourite song into a teaching tool?

You will choose a song -- any song -- and transform it (or a portion of it) into a science-based parody.

Try to keep it light, keep the beat and find words and phrases that fit well with the beat.

Hopefully better than my version -- see below!

Disclaimer:
It was midnight.
My voice was going.
I don't know the song that well, and it has a weird beat.
I kept getting lost.
And my hair looks like Ms. Frizzle's.

Wanna Learn Chemistry?

Wanna learn chemistry? Stick around learn with me.
What are you wondering? What don’t you know?
All molecules are free, float through eternity,
making up you and me, isn’t it cool?

Starts with
The big bang far away, expand into matter
The plasma from the stars swirling around, making a batter
Today, I’m thinking about the atoms I carry
Were they inside a star, inside a lion
Or inside a cherry

Look really close, see a proton (ahh)
Nucleous friend, with a neutron, ah ahh
Forming a mass with electrons (ahh)
Spinning around, I wanna learn it

Wanna learn chemistry? Stick around learn with me.
What are you wondering? What don’t you know?
All molecules are free, float through eternity,
making up you and me, isn’t it cool?

Listen

Check out a molecule, not what I expected
The blocks that make everything
Are so organized, it’s almost poetic
I see you drink a compound, you must be so thirsty
I’ll mix it with some tea put in some ice, make it immersed, and

I’m talk'll be somethin' you probably should know by now
All of those elements, molecules, mixtures and compounds (wow)
Create everything that you see and you touch and you sit around
The only thing that they don’t make is light and sound

Properties that these elements all hold
Are so measurable, very measurable.
What’s the colour, weight, what’s the way they fold
When they melt or boil, are they dense or no

Watch it

Look really close, see a proton (ahh)
Nucleous friend, with a neutron, ah ahh
Forming a mass with electrons (ahh)
Spinning around, I wanna learn it

Wanna learn chemistry? Stick around learn with me.
What are you wondering? What don’t you know?
All molecules are free, float through eternity,
making up you and me, isn’t it cool?
