CRITIQUES

Critiques are important as a check-in to ensure you are on the right track, as well as to gather ideas of what you could do to improve upon a piece of artwork. You should use each other (and myself) as a resource by giving each other feedback and support when building your portfolio. These critiques will also prepare you for critiques when you are out of high school.

Please be respectful and constructive when reviewing your peers' works. Think of the old "two starts and a wish" -- you may have a couple of wishes, but make sure to also mention the strengths found on the piece. We want to support each other and help each other achieve a high quality portfolio.

In the beginning of April, we will meet one-on-one to review your Portfolios. This will be scheduled closer to that date.

Critiques will happen the class after each due date. Below, a tentative schedule for our critiques this year:

  • October 1st, early start - 8:05 AM
  • November 2nd
  • December 2nd
  • January 12th
  • February 1st
  • March 2nd
  • April 1st -  Last critique. Schedule portfolio reviews.
