QUALITY IN RESULT

After all the great work you will accomplish, you should feel really proud. I will be very proud of you for sure!

Choosing the right pieces to submit can be very difficult, as we tend to fall in love with many pieces that are not as visually valuable as other pieces. This is why it is important for us to sit together and check out your pieces, and make sure only the most visually successful, the most impactful, are sent off to the judges.

But just having a great piece with amazing technique is not enough; the effect can be easily destroyed if you don't display artistic professionalism.

Cleanliness is a very big item on these quality pieces. This is why they still want to see five pieces of actual work; they need to see how careful you are, besides the quality of your work. Digital pieces can be cleaned and fixed up later in Photoshop; colours can be pumped up, elements can be enhanced. But your original is a naked version of your work, and so, it must display utmost care. No crinkles, no bends, no bent corners, no charcoal smudges... only pick pieces that express your PROFESSIONALISM, CARE and RESPECT for your work, as well as artistic talent.

If you absolutely love an idea and would like to send it as one of your actual originals, but you were not successful in keeping it clean or smooth, or if the colours are wrong, think of it as your first draft. Artists often have several drafts of the same artwork. Reproducing it will be easier that making it the first time.
