What is an Immigrant?

Canada is a country built by immigrants. Most of us have come from a family that has just moved to Canada in recent years; many of us are, ourselves, immigrants, leaving our country of birth to find a new life in a foreign land. But when all of us are here together, many questions start to appear; your task is to choose one of these questions and explore it visually, in order to portray a message.

Through this assignment, we will have an introduction of some of the different types of colour wheels and colour schemes you can choose to bring more harmony to your piece. There are many, many more, but these are good for a start.

We will focus on exploring the three colour wheels below. Pick the colours that will work best with your chosen question/theme/idea.

After you select a colour wheel, you will reproduce it on thick white paper. Use only WASHES -- if you make the paint layer too thick, you won't be able to see the beautiful pigment tones.
